We enjoy both traditional and contemporary music and we strongly accept the differences and diversities among ourselves because of our mutual respect. We affirm our "historical roots" in Poway proudly maintaining the 120-year-old Chapel, which is the oldest wooden structure still in use for religious purposes in the San Diego County. It has been used for baptisms, weddings, memorial services and special occasions. We are the descendants of our spiritual ancestors of the Plymouth Colony Congregationalists whose legacy is known as Forefathers of founding our beloved country. We belong to the United Church of Christ, founded in 1957 by mergers of four denominations that included the Congregational Church. We are an autonomous congregation free to govern ourselves discretely, led by the dictates of the conscience and faith of our members. We are working to spread God's love in the world! Our Prayer Quilt Ministry has been initiated by one of our members and has now spread nationwide and around the world. The quilts bring comfort and prayers to a person in a time of need.Our Board of Outreach celebrates the recent CROP Walk that brought together walkers from faith groups throughout the community. The walk raised $5262 for Church World Service who will keep a large portion in San Diego to feed the hungry. We are proud Community Church raised over $3000 of the funds!
